Hi Product Hunt, I'm Balmike, and I built Pagewood.
I was studying for exams and kept losing hours to my phone. Tree-growing focus apps helped, but a few things kept bugging me: ads in the free version, killing a tree felt like punishment, and in-app currency you could just buy.
So Pagewood tries to be the kind version:
• Strict mode actually covers distracting apps on Android, but the apps you study with stay open, and you can always leave (the tree becomes a stump, and your minutes still count).
• It works fully offline, needs no account, and which apps you use never leaves your phone.
• No ads, and the core app will never be a subscription. Seeds come only from focused minutes.
There's also a free browser version of the timer at pagewoodapp.com/study-timer if you want to try the idea without installing anything.
It's on Android now (with a home-screen widget and optional Google sign-in to sync), and Windows and iPhone are in the works. I'd love to hear what would make you actually keep using a focus app.
