A promotional listing board for indie developers. Buy a higher rank; a published share of what outgive earns funds developer accounts we buy and gift to new devs. New devs list free, forever, and the whole ledger is public.
Hey Product Hunt community.
I'm a self-taught techie, and new developer. I spent almost the last $100 I had on an Apple Developer account to start building my first app. For a lot of people that fee is a real decision, not a rounding error. I've recently worked on a project using Flutter, across Android and iOS but my upcoming app is using Swift which I'm excited to launch soon.
This week everyone started building pay-to-rank leader-boards. I couldn't have afforded to bid on any of them. They're founders with money charging founders with money, and the people who most need the visibility, no audience, nothing spare to burn, first app just shipped, are exactly the ones left out.
So I built the opposite.
On Outgive the free tier is the point, not the consolation prize. New devs list free, forever. People with money and a sense of community spirit and service can bid to sit above them, and a published share of every bid funds someone's first launch: a developer account, a domain, a year of hosting. All of it receipted on a public ledger, so you can see exactly where the money went.
I've put myself at #1 with pretty much the last $25 I had, because someone had to go first and I believe in this community. The ledger's public and honest from day one. Right now that's $25, all mine, and the first payout goes out on the 1st.
Two things I'd love from you:
If you've shipped before: take a spot, or just tell me what you'd want funded next (accounts, domains, hosting, something else).
If you haven't shipped yet: list free and reply with what you're building. You're the whole reason this exists.
Honest note: it runs on Gumroad right now because my first payment processor turned the account down mid-review, and I wanted to ship while the idea's still alive. Prefer another way to pay? Let me know and I'll add you manually.
Happy to answer anything, and I'll be here all day. Thanks for taking a look!
Nathan
