Hey all! Thanks for checking out OurShuk! After working in the blockchain industry for the last 10 years, I am building OurShuk as a Web3 consumer application. A lawyer by training, I founded OurShuk in order to make the internet more equitable for businesses online after seeing the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurs building on centralized platforms without a voice, and without direct access to their loyal customer base. We’re not reimagining good business, we’re just bringing it online. Our platforms utilize participatory governance to emulate the long-standing economic models used throughout the “shuks” or “Suks” (marketplaces) of the Middle East, where the merchants themselves engage in collective governance over the common marketplace, hence the name “OurShuk”.
