Free, open-source Mac app for DJI Osmo cameras. Pairs over Bluetooth, joins the camera's Wi-Fi and downloads clips into day folders, dated when shot and resumable. Plus remote record, live view and USB webcam. No phone app, no account.

I shoot on an Osmo Pocket 3, and getting footage onto my Mac always meant a cable, a card reader, or DJI Mimo on the phone and then AirDrop. For a camera with its own Wi-Fi, that felt backwards. Osmotic lets the Mac talk to the camera directly. It pairs over Bluetooth, joins the camera's Wi-Fi and pulls only what's new into a folder per day, dated when shot. If the link drops, it picks up where it left off. It also starts and stops recording, shows the live picture, and over USB-C the camera works as a webcam. It stands on Osmosis by Konrad Iturbe, the open-source Android app that worked out the camera's protocol (Osmotic is its native macOS port), and on Kaze for DJI by Brian Merchant for live control. porting off Osmosis's reverse-engineered protocol work instead of starting from scratch is the right call, and crediting them and Kaze by name up front is a good look too - that kind of thing usually gets buried in a README nobody reads. the resumable download is the detail I'd actually care about day to day, footage transfers are exactly the kind of thing that dies halfway through when you walk out of Wi-Fi range mid-hike. since it's not notarized yet, are you planning to go through notarization once it's past beta, or staying MIT/no-analytics means that's not really compatible with how Apple wants things packaged?
