I built Ornus because current VS Code editors haven't caught up with what modern AI is truly capable of.
Instead of just another chat sidebar, I built a deeply upgraded coding agent (Ornus Code) and paired it with a team of specialized, scheduled AI employees. Everything runs locally on your Mac (built on the open-source VS Code core) using the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already have, or an API key. Ornus charges nothing for AI usage.
Because the entire AI team lives right inside your project folder, they have direct file access and real-time awareness of every change—meaning zero time wasted explaining your project's context.
What is different:
- Ornus Code, the coding agent, can ask a second model to review its change. In our launch demo the review found that anyone could download the signup list. Ornus Code fixed it and wrote the tests.
