OrbitStudio turns real NASA mission elevation data into 3D-printable models, right in your browser. Pick any spot on the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Vesta, Ceres, Pluto or Charon, frame a crater or a landing site, and download a snap-together jigsaw puzzle or a solid ornament as STL or a pre-coloured 3MF. Multicolour prints take their colours from the spacecraft's own images. No CAD, no mesh repair. Trying it is free, and OrbitStudio Sky makes a free star map STL of any place and date.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Mike, a one-person 3D-printing studio (SimplySolid3D) in the Netherlands.
It started with a Moon surface jigsaw puzzle I published on MakerWorld. People kept asking for more, so I built a tool that lets anyone make their own. OrbitStudio launched through a MakerWorld crowdfunding campaign that was funded more than 800%, and since then it has grown from the Moon to eight worlds.
A few things I learned building it:
- Venus is so flat that its highest mountain, Maat Mons, holds under 4 mm of relief on a 20 cm print, so Venus models start at 4x height.
- New Horizons measured only about 45% of Pluto, so OrbitStudio only lets you print that part.
- The new multicolour mode prints the terrain in the colours of the spacecraft's own images: Viking's near-natural colour for Mars, Dawn's true colour for Vesta, Magellan's radar for Venus.
I'd love your feedback: which place would you print first, and what's missing?
