Hey all, I started OrbitCSS a few years back after realizing that my dependence on the big frameworks was limiting my design options. OrbitCSS was a way to further my personal understanding of modern CSS and CSS preprocessors. It has been both an enjoyable and frustrating learning experience, and after making the framework available to my personal network, I have decided to make it available online. OrbitCSS is an opinionated CSS only framework. This means that the entire framework comes down to a single compiled CSS file that provides a basic structure and styling for building front-end user interfaces. The structure is loosely based on the BEM methodology. There is no JavaScript involved, as I did not want to push my JS preferences on you. With the number of frameworks and libraries on the market today, it made no sense. I use OrbitCSS in all of my projects, big and small, but it was intended to enable rapid development for prototypes and small sites without focusing too much on the design element. I would love to hear your thoughts on this project, both good and bad. I'd also like to encourage those heavily dependent on CSS frameworks to take a crack at building their own, even if just for fun or learning. The knowledge and experience you gain will make working with existing frameworks so much easier and enjoyable. Cheers Rhys
