I think this is a great product. I know this was featured 2 years ago, but if this could be re-hunted today, i think it would get A LOT more upvotes. It's def a disruptor for the industry.
Opternative took a really complicated workflow and built a great user experience on top of it. I was really impressed with this service (even though I was also nervous about trusting the results... but that's not their fault).
The moment I chanced up on this one, I was left gawking. It was just a great surprise to see this old school service go online in this form!

This is awesome. I didn't see pricing on the website but in an article I found it stated $20 for the online exam/prescription. With this and cheap rx lenses/frames from sites like zennioptical.com I should be able to pick up new glasses for roughly half of what I was paying (and that included insurance).
Showed this to my friend who's an optometrist and she's upset that it exists. Curious how the industry reacts to it. There is a lot more that goes into eye exams that can't be done through a webcam.

Currently trying this out. Let's see how accurate it is. $40 for glasses. $60 for glasses and contacts.
