I built OpenSparrow because I kept seeing the same pattern repeated: every business needs internal tools — admin panels, dashboards, CRUD interfaces for managing customers, orders, inventory, employees. But building these from scratch is tedious and repetitive. Existing solutions either lock you into a proprietary platform, require heavy frontend build toolchains, or force you to write hundreds of lines of boilerplate JSON or YAML config. I wanted something different: a tool where you just point it at a PostgreSQL database, configure everything through a visual interface, and get a fully working admin panel — tables, forms, dashboards, calendars, file uploads — out of the box. No npm, no Composer, no external libraries. Pure PHP and vanilla JS. Self-hosted, open-source, and free for commercial use under LGPL v3. The project evolved from a simple datagrid into a full platform with features like ERD diagrams, many-to-many support, AI-powered RAG search, bulk operations, and full keyboard navigation.
