AI replies in Telegram used to appear all at once, after a wait. OpenClaw now streams responses live in real time. DMs, group chats, reasoning visible as it happens.

Streaming feels like a small thing until you don't have it.
Anyone who's used ChatGPT or Claude in the browser knows how much it changes the experience. Watching the response come in live signals that something is happening. It reduces anxiety. It lets you bail early if the answer is going in the wrong direction. It feels fast even when it isn't.
Telegram bots have always had the opposite experience. You send a message, you wait, a full response appears. For short replies, fine. For reasoning, document analysis, or long tasks, it feels broken.
OpenClaw just fixed that. π¦
What shipped:
β‘ Streaming defaults to partial for all new setups. No config required.
π¬ Private DMs use Telegram's native sendMessageDraft API for seamless in-thread preview.
π§ Reasoning and answer streams stay in separate lanes so "thinking" never bleeds into the final response.
π Graceful fallback to message-edit preview when native drafts aren't available.
Why it matters beyond UX polish:
OpenClaw runs long, complex tasks. The gap between sending a message and getting a reply can be 30 seconds, a minute, longer. Without streaming, that's a black hole.
Live streaming turns waiting into watching.
