OpenMES is an open-source manufacturing execution system for small and mid-sized factories. It helps teams manage production lines, track orders, monitor shop-floor activity, and bring more visibility into daily operations without enterprise-level complexity. This first MVP is already usable, self-hostable, and built to evolve with real feedback from production teams.
OpenMES v0.11.1 is out!
We've been busy improving the day-to-day experience for production managers and operators. Here's what's new:
- Production Planner Completely redesigned schedule view with a Gantt-style shift grid. Drag & drop work orders across lines and shifts. Weekly, daily, and monthly views. Real-time updates via polling so the whole team sees changes instantly. Overdue orders are visually flagged directly on the timeline. Shift-precise placement drop an order exactly where it
belongs
- Tabbed System Settings - The settings page got a complete redesign. Instead of one long scrollable page, everything is now organized into clean tabs: General, Production, Schedule, Security, and Data. Less scrolling, faster access.
- Overdue Order Highlighting - Work orders past their due date now stand out with a red left border and tinted row. No more missed deadlines hiding in plain sight.
- Sidebar Cleanup - Removed duplicate navigation entries and unused links. Cleaner sidebar, less confusion.
- Polish Translations - Added missing translations for production tracking modes, settings descriptions, and UI labels. The Polish version keeps getting better.
