I built OnlyFounders because most of what we see from startups is the highlight reel — a funding announcement, a slick demo video, a "we're live!" tweet — after all the messy, interesting work already happened behind closed doors. I wanted a place where you could actually watch that work happen, not just read about it after the fact. The idea started simple: what if founders could just... go live? No editing, no polish, just a dashboard where you hit start and people can drop in, watch you build, ask questions, and vote on what matters. Somewhere between a Twitch stream and a founder update, but built specifically for startups. The hardest part wasn't the streaming — it was figuring out what makes people stay. Early versions were just a video feed and it felt like watching someone type in silence. Adding live polls and a question queue changed everything — suddenly viewers weren't just watching, they were part of the session, and founders got real-time signal instead of shouting into the void.
