Discovered Omnisend after getting sticker shock from Klaviyo's pricing for a smaller Shopify store. The pitch of "everything Klaviyo does, at a fraction of the cost" is close to true for most small-to-mid ecommerce use cases. The drag-and-drop editor is clean and visual, and the pre-built automation flows (cart recovery, welcome series, browse abandonment, post-purchase) work out of the box with reliable Shopify sync. Getting an abandoned cart flow live took maybe 20 minutes on day one.
The killer feature for me is having email, SMS, and web push in a single workflow builder. Instead of managing three tools and stitching them together, you build one journey that can hop between channels based on customer behavior. Back-in-stock automation works reliably at the variant level too, which is way better than most competitors handle it. The free plan up to 250 contacts with full feature access is also generous for testing.
Where it starts to feel limited: reporting lacks the granularity you get in Klaviyo, and the template editor is functional but less polished than Mailchimp's. SMS credits are billed separately from email, which can make omnichannel campaigns more expensive than they initially look. Push notifications also feel too basic, the permission prompt fires immediately on site visit which can come across as intrusive. But for Shopify or WooCommerce brands doing $100K-$1M annually, Omnisend is genuinely one of the best value plays in the market.
