Hello, I'm Keith, founder & CEO of Offline. Our goal is simple: to make concerts more fun. Using apps. That's it! When we started in 2012, we were known for synchronized crowdsourced lighting effects (see the video if that sounds like nonsense). Since then, we've added a ton of features to our product and app platform, allowing all kinds of amazing shared experiences. This means a crowd of 10,000 "Skyping" with the artist before he comes out on stage. Or casting a vote about what song to play next. Or singling out a contest winner to come up on stage by flashing their phone. I know what you're thinking — and I get it. Phones can be really annoying at live events. But here at Offline, we know mobile is so much more than a distraction. We believe it's is an untapped well of connection, interactivity, and shared experience. When 80,000 people simultaneously take their most intimate possession and hold it up in the air, they are showing solidarity, passion, and an openness to share something new and unique. So this is what we're into. And we're going to continue working hard until we know the answers to questions like these: - What would a simultaneous stadium-wide selfie look like? - Why can’t you text your friends when cell towers are overloaded? - What would it sound like for the audience to jam with the band? - What would it look like for 80,000 fans to play a game together? - Why don’t dating apps filter for people at the same venue? - What will it feel like when mobile devices are integral to every performance?
