It's genuinely fun to just glance at your wrist-free chew count mid-meal instead of trying to consciously count in your head, which I always lose track of after about ten. The setup with the calibration step was quick and it started tracking pretty naturally after that, no fiddling with settings.
The meal summary afterward could use a way to compare across days or weeks - right now it feels like isolated snapshots per meal rather than something that shows whether my habits are actually trending in a direction.
I looked at a couple of plate-sensor gadgets before this, but they all needed a separate physical device you have to carry to every meal. Since I already wear AirPods most of the day anyway, this needed zero extra hardware or habit change.
@kuzmovych Hi Maksym! Thanks for checking out Ododok! 😃
Right now, Ododok focuses on real-time tracking (chew count, pace, and meal duration) and post-meal summaries to help build awareness around eating habits. While it doesn't give deep behavioral analysis yet, providing personalized insights and tips based on chewing rhythm is definitely on our radar for future updates. Appreciate the great suggestion!
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 Thank you so much for the amazing support and thoughtful comments so far!
To show you exactly how it works in action, I wanted to share a quick demo video.
The video shows the core concept in just a few seconds:
Real-time Chew Tracking: When I chew, Ododok detects it live and Odi collects acorns as the count goes up.
Smart Detection: When I simply move my head or walk around, nothing is counted.
Zero Manual Input: There is no tapping, and data isn't synced after the meal—everything happens live via motion data from supported AirPods.
We built Ododok because standard advice like "eat slower" or "chew more" is tough to follow when you can't visualize what's happening. Ododok makes that eating rhythm visible.
During a meal, you can track:
Live chew count & pace
Time spent chewing & total meal duration
After the meal:
Get a detailed meal summary to review your habits.
Enjoy daily/weekly reports, reminders, and a fun habit loop with Odi, our acorn-collecting mascot! 🐿️
All you need is your iPhone and supported AirPods, no extra wearables required.
📢 Note on Availability & Feedback:
We’re currently preparing for the US App Store release! Once it goes live in the US, I’ll drop an update right here in the comments so you can try it out immediately.
In the meantime, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the concept:
Did seeing the live count/pace concept feel intuitive to you?
Does Odi and the acorn loop make habit-building feel more engaging?
What features would make the post-meal summary most useful for you?
Would you wear AirPods during a meal for something like this?
Thanks again for checking out Ododok! I’ll be around to answer any questions and keep you updated here. 🙌
@bathilde_r Hi Bathilde! Thank you so much for the support! ❤️
We're currently working on expanding availability to more regions, including France on the App Store. Stay tuned, and we hope to bring Ododok to you very soon!

Hi Omri, thank you so much for the detailed review!
We're thrilled to hear that tracking your chew count with AirPods has been smooth and hassle-free for you!
Regarding your point about daily and weekly comparisons, we actually do have daily/weekly reporting available in the app! It sounds like we didn't highlight or structure this feature clearly enough within the UI, so we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We’ll work on making these insights and trends much easier to discover and navigate in upcoming updates.
Thanks again for the valuable feedback and support!
