Hi; My name is Gordian. I am an entrepreneur by heart, even more when it has a real impact. I experienced decision pain in many situations: in my private life, e.g. when our son finished school and did not know what to do next when lecturing and seeing students suffering to decide for majors, thesis or internships or in my business life when decisions where not taken at the end of the meeting, wasting energy and motivation. With all this experience, I was getting more and more curious about the aspect and started my research. We can make decisions to alter a situation. Like building a house, brick-by-brick, you will create something; you’re building your pathway to a more peaceful situation. We got the feedback of 77.2% of millennials we surveyed postponed decisions at least once, and the majority also agreed it cost them time & money (among other factors). It can be all too easy to avoid making a choice. There’s a theory: to find the motivation, you must create momentum; want to clean your apartment? Put dishes in the dishwasher, then wipe the bench-top, next put random items back in their homes’ and so on. With all this collective knowledge and input, I gathered my friends and co-founders to come up with the idea that (a) does not influence decisions (b) is a learning tool not addictive and (c) is no user data harvesting tool for marketers. We want to support individuals to become better decision-makers in private, business, and society. With the ODE app, we aim to apply these principles to decisions, creating momentum through small but valuable steps.
