@clarklab Hey Clark! The phrase OTT (over-the-top) represents any content delivered outside of the normal set top cable box these days. OTT includes devices like Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV and more! Audiences these days want more control of what they watch, when they watch it, and where they watch it. We provide an open source solution that allows folks to get their content on any and all of the devices that their audiences want to consume their content on!
@clarklab No one needs more acronyms in their life! But yes any video content served over the internet (without having to subscribe to a traditional cable or satellite provider) is considered OTT. Most commonly people think of it as set top boxes like Roku and Apple TV, but it can also include gaming consoles, mobile content etc..
@jkeller_86 I guess this is targeted at folks in the industry, so take this with a grain of salt, but I'm a *hardcore* media streamer (owned multiple Google TVs, Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Fire TV, Nexus Player, too many to list) and have never heard of "OTT". I figured it out pretty quickly, with your "Netflix in a box" line, which is pretty spot-on. Overall looking pretty great!
@clarklab First off, wow - that's a ton of devices - I think you may have just as many devices as we do in our office! That said, your 100% right as far as that being an industry term - although, it's just another confusing acronym lol

Seems like the perfect time for this. Every content creator and their mother is building out an app. I strongly believe "TV" of the future is simply a bunch of apps and lives through Ethernet cables, not coaxial.
Hey! Seth here - Product Designer/Creative Director @ Odd. We are really excited to share what we've been working on for the past year. We came up with the idea of Odd Networks (ON) from the constant frustration of seeing video content brands struggle with creating their own ecosystem on so many devices and also going up against media giants.
With the belief of creating your own destiny, we built a FREE solution to get your video libraries and live stream distributed to many over-the-top devices that include Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, iOS Mobile/Tablet, Android Mobile/Tablet, Android TV, XBOX One, and Samsung Smart TVs.
So, go check out the open source repos or sign up to our OTT newsletter or sign up for our slack community. Whichever you prefer, we are here to help change the media industry!

@sethlouey sounds neat. Seems like a must-exist product.
@sethlouey love the idea and added to my 'eTV' tracker! would love to get your thoughts on a post i wrote about the 'future of TV' http://bit.ly/1M9wltY
@q_i_a_n_a@sethlouey Thanks! We're been reaching out to some really cool content creators in many different verticals - especially now that we've open sourced the platform. Any recommendations on who you think might be a good fit? We'd love your input!

@jkeller_86@sethlouey Issa Rae Productions (believed she inked deals with HBO) , BlackandSexy.tv (inked deal with BET Networks) and anafricancity. I am a paying subscriber to BlackandSexy and AnAfricanCity via VHX.
Hey all - our company, Overdog, is a client of Odd Networks. Just wanted to give our promotion as well - These guys are incredible and the product is great. Ease of use, update, content, etc.
Odd Networks is an open source platform designed to give you access to a powerful set of tools that enables you to launch your own content streaming service across an array of mobile, tablet, and connected TV devices.
Um, hi, long time listener and first time caller :) I just wanted to jump in and say "thank you" to anyone who showed interest in @oddnetworks.
Imagine a world where there was no open source blog software. That's the world of TV right now. Content creators have no open source options, and thus can only afford to compete with the big guys if they have oodles and mountains of cash. Not cool.
Building a company on open-source software is hard, but after almost a year of discussion we decided that growing our community and helping every content creator own their own destiny was was the right thing for our team and our company. It's what we're passionate about.
Anyways, if you dig the product, we'd love a few stars on Github. Join our Slack, and hang out. Chat us up on Twitter. Let's make TV better :)
