Hey everyone! Have you ever wanted to digitize or extract text from an image without having to write it out yourself? Well, my problem was that I have about 10 journals filled with ideas and thoughts that I would like to access just by searching for keywords rather than physically looking for it page by page. WELL, after trying multiple apps in the Apple App Store and not being satisfied with the results along with potential associated costs such as monthly subscriptions, I decided I would build my own app. I built OCR Wiz: Handwriting To Text to be completely FREE! Here is how I used OCR Wiz: Handwriting To Text to digitize my journals by sharing the scanned text to notion and build my digital repository or journals there! I was wondering if it's also available in the form of API, so that I can put it in my product(I'm building a product to make the hand-writing english test scoring job more productive for my own work, and desperately looking for an OCR model with descent quality just like yours.

Thank you for the comment @chandula ! My handwriting is not great, so when I tried different apps on the Apple App Store, I would get really bad results. Ex. Many misspelled words, spaces (tabs, end of line) everywhere. I might as well would have written it from scratch rather than correct all the errors. Pen to Print was the only app that worked better than the rest but wanted a monthly subscription to export the extracted text in any form. So, given that most iOS apps were written in Flutter (for iOS & Android use), I thought I could build something better using SwiftUI and Apple's Vision Framework (at the cost Android use for now). The Vision Framework combined with ChatGPT API to clean and format the text and a homemade sauce to get even better understanding of the words really made the trick ;)

Nice work! We've been building a document extraction tool as well and found that combining AI extraction with human validation improves reliability a lot. Curious if you're exploring something similar.
