Hey everyone! 👋 I’m excited to share Ochi, an indie app that lets you block distracting apps & websites across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. You can create timed filters to stay focused and spend your time wisely on each device. Key Features • Block access to iOS apps, Mac apps, and Websites • Filter websites by category, including Social Media, Chat, and News • Apply multiple timed or untimed filters, with different rules • Limit how often filters can be temporarily suspended • Lock & hide sensitive filter details • Assign shortcuts to filters that turn on Focus and filters on other devices • Integrate Ochi into your workflow with Shortcut automations • Sync filters between iPhone, iPad, and Mac • Themeable widgets for quickly starting a filter 🤔 Why I made it? Ochi is inspired by the idea of blocking distractions on a whim, while working during the day, and also in the evening when it's time to go to bed. Automating that process at the app/website level across my devices was very important to me, something that Screen Time currently lacks. I can start a filter on my Mac which blocks websites like Twitter/Facebook, and with Focus, seamlessly apply the same restrictions on my iPhone or iPad. It feels great knowing that while Ochi is active, I can't simply pick up another device on my desk and be easily sucked into a distraction. ➡️ What’s Next? I’ve kept an open mind with making Ochi a flexible utility that can be integrated into various workflows, an area where I feel most distraction blockers fall short. On the Mac, Ochi can lean on Shortcuts & Focus to automatically block distractions on iOS devices. But since automation support in Shortcuts for Mac is not available, I’m interested in bridging the gap to seamlessly apply a filter on my Mac, from my iPhone or iPad. Also, I’m keen to add support for scheduling recurring filters to automatically control which apps or websites I can access at a given moment. This will especially be helpful for when I head to bed and want to avoid losing an hour of sleep, because my willpower is too low to stop browsing social media. Happy to answer any questions you may have! 🤗

I've tried the app on iOS and impressed by how great it works. This app is what Screen Time is missing

@onmyway133 Appreciate the support Khoa! Fingers crossed the Screen Time API receives some love later this year with iOS 16.

This is turning out to be a super useful app! I'm really liking the ability to block specific websites only during focus sessions – what an incredibly helpful feature to stay on track when I'm working! It goes well beyond what's possible with Screen Time. Keep up the great work, you're on top of this space!
