In 2010, I created app.itize.us, a painstakingly curated showcase of the best-designed mobile applications. The site earned recognition from Design Observer, Macworld UK, UsTwo, and waxy.org — praised as “the iPhone app blog I’ve been waiting for” — and became a go-to resource for designers seeking inspiration in the early mobile era.
ObjectStandard is the intersection of that experience (15 years later) — applying the same rigor used to evaluate digital products to the physical objects we live with. Every product here has been vetted through the lens of someone who has spent twenty years asking: does this deserve to exist, and does it do its job with intention?
ObjectStandard is also intentionally simple. No React. No Webpack. No Tailwind. Just HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript pulling data from a Supabase backend. The entire frontend loads in a single request cycle — one HTML file, one CSS file, two small JS files. No build artifacts, no tree-shaking, no code-splitting. The fastest framework is no framework.
