I built Nyquist because I wanted to see the spectrum of music I was actually listening to — not through a mic pointed at my speakers, but from the system audio directly. Every app I found either couldn’t do that, required a subscription, or looked like a 2009 audio engineering tool. So I built it myself. The design is deliberately simple and clean — somewhere between Winamp’s iconic visualiser and the kind of data displays you’d see in a NASA control room. 120 FPS, metal rendering, 8192-point FFT with sub-bin interpolation for clean low-end, and a mini player that sits on your desktop with now playing info and playback controls. $4.99, one-time, no nonsense.
