Hello, I’m Jeff Nolan from NowSecure. We are excited to be on Product Hunt with our latest product offering for mobile application security testing.
NowSecure is a company that is exclusively focused on mobile security, we don’t do network or web app analysis. Our researchers are singularly focused on mobile security tools and technologies, including open source tools like Radare, Frida and Santoku Linux through to our commercial products like our integrated hardware and software workstation for security analysts.
We have over 100 large enterprise customers who are grappling with the dynamic of a workforce that is shifting to mobile technology on devices and networks that are beyond the control of security teams, to a customer base that prefers mobile apps for accessing company services. Analyzing a mobile app for vulnerabilities, leaky data, and flaws in critical services like TLS requires a specialized skillset that is not easily acquired in the marketplace. Enterprise CISOs see automation as a critical next step to managing mobile appsec.
At the same time, enterprise software development teams building mobile apps rely on well understood agile methodology and a devops build-and-deploy mindset. App security analysis that takes days or weeks breaks agile workflows. This led us to develop Lab Automated, a comprehensive static, dynamic, and interactive security analysis service that is without equal in the security industry.
Lab Automated does not rely on emulators to run apps through the testing battery. We have developed a unique cloud-based analysis rig that has a captive device farm of Android and iOS devices. Application binaries are uploaded to the service and run through a full array of tests with results presented in a format that can then be acted on by developers. We support industry standards for vulnerabilities, OWASP, CWE, CVSS, and NIAP, with directed remediation actions for fast and efficient fixes.
It is our vision that security testing and analysis moves to the cloud with more automated testing and fewer manual processes. Moving security testing further into the developer workflow results in better code that does not need to be fixed after release for remediation of embarrassing and damaging security vulnerabilities. Embedding the security testing within the developer workflows is how modern security teams want to interact with their developer teams, Lab Automated is how they can achieve that goal.
