Quick development update on NovelHane 👋
It’s been about a month since the pre-launch, and I’ve been focusing on making the AI agent work better for long-form fiction.
One of the latest features I’ve finished is story state tracking. As the story progresses, the AI can keep up with the latest changes to characters, relationships, locations, items, and other story elements, instead of relying on outdated information from earlier chapters.
I’m now continuing to add more AI features around the actual long-form writing workflow.

I’m also looking for feedback from writers who already use AI writing tools. In particular, I’d love to hear about features that existing tools don’t do well enough, or things you wish they could do but currently can’t.

Recently, I’ve been exploring a question that keeps coming up while building the AI agent: how much does a writer need to tell AI before it can be genuinely helpful?
Too little information, and the AI may misunderstand characters, drift away from the intended plot, or lose the writer’s preferred voice. Too much information, and preparing instructions starts to feel like a separate writing project.
I’m trying to find the useful minimum across the story, narrative, and language: which decisions need to come from the writer, and which details the AI can safely develop.
