What inspired us? Like many of you, we live in Notion. It’s where our projects, tasks, and visions live. But when it came to time tracking, we were stuck in a loop: jumping between browser tabs, manually syncing entries, or dealing with clunky widgets that felt out of place. We wanted something that stayed out of the way but kept our Notion databases perfectly updated. The Problem we’re solving Most time trackers are either too detached from your workspace or rely on web extensions that feel slow. noTracker is a native macOS and Windows app. We built it to solve the "context-switching tax." No more searching for the right page to start a timer, no more messy data syncing. How we evolved Our biggest challenge was the native vs. web debate. We initially thought about a Chrome extension, but we realized that for true productivity, you need a global shortcut and a menu bar presence that works regardless of which tab you have open. We shifted our focus to performance, ensuring that starting a timer feels instantaneous and that the API handshake with Notion is rock-solid.
