OK. First thing, I literally don't have a single clue what you're doing. You're all over the place. And no, I'm not falling for the "ooooh so mysterious" fad.
Secondly, it's dead obvious you're trying hard to be "cool" and it makes me instantly suspicious of such buzzword-revolution. I mean, "We are currently ROCKING in current beta", really? If you're trying to promote "the new internet", your target audience is basically geeks (and almost-geeks), since normal people are quite content(/oblivious) with the current state. Problem is, geeks don't fall for that crapywriting. Show me something real. Tell me about the technology. Present use cases.
But what scares me the most is that such "cool" products are more likely to jeopardize security for user experience and ROI.
This seems like a simple case of a buzz product, that has not real focus but tries to do all the cool things at once, with charismatic people (Internet Geniuses? c'mon) who will spend a lot of money on unnecessary things, run the company to the ground, maybe pivot a few times, and finally go byebye.
That's the impression i'm getting anyway.
@danr_4 thanks for the feedback. Real quick I am trying to gather something productive from what you said and thus find it very hard "falling for yours" myself so I guess that makes 2 of us :) Happy hunting!

@netgenius aaaaand that's another warning sign - totally ignoring criticism. I literally wrote "Show me something real. Tell me about the technology. Present use cases". obviously that's not helpful at all.
Good luck and
@danr_4 love the meme even though I know your trolling me, you got 11 followers on Twitter my brother be humble.

@netgenius I think I remember someone on r/startups on Reddit proposing this idea, and the founder was just as defensive as you were being right now. I'm guessing that was you... nobody was able to understand what you were doing then, and it doesn't look like anybody is able to understand now either. If this group of early adopters doesn't get it, what makes you think anybody else is going to?
Report
oh come on cut him slack, will you guys? I mean the guy made something. That takes courage. You think it's a piece of crap because you don't like the idea. Doesn't mean the idea's not worth a discussion.

@aminspeaks I'm actually genuinely interested in the elevator pitch as I think many others have alluded to. Simply put - what is the problem I as a user have that this web-site/service/product solves?
@netgenius@aminspeaks I've read, I've watched; I've still to find the 140 character "This is the problem I'm solving". What is your #1 User Story?
Report
@jamiequackers I honestly don't know. But ^that is a discussion. which is always better than just shunning the idea like shit on boots.

@netgenius after 2 years of working on this, couldn't you make the site responsive by adding some simple media queries in your CSS? I can't even access it on my phone
@michaelabehsera technology inside being used was a bit difficult on mobile with our end product being a desktop driven software application anyways. We don't want to cater to mobile until we find a permanent solution for right now. I don't understand why your so aggressive though? Is this site for champions of the internet who have 2135902375 in revenue or something? I am building, we are working, we are developers, and we are enjoying our time on PH what am I missing? It's cool to add your comments and feedback but your not just continue telling me and picking at things that have nothing to do with the product.
@netgenius it actually makes lots of sense. I use messenger+ Facebook only on mobile 80% of time. I have an iPhone 6S which is a pretty popular model but still can't access most stuff on your page. This means I can't reach my data, only if I have a laptop with me which I clearly don't have all day. I have 50GB filled up with apps to be able to use my data on mobile too. You should work on accessibility even if the core features are only available on desktop
@noxowe understand many users are frustrated with this currently. This is a growing pain and an obstacle we have to accomplish. We will be much more than this browser though as this is not forever. We are working on a desktop platform which will make things much more clear.
@netgenius yay! Waiting got it, don't take my comments as hating, keep up the good work and launch it as 1.0 on product hunt whenever it's ready. I will be one of your first users :)
@noxowe thank you so much and I honestly mean that.

So, after reading the home page and the comment page I've just no desire to try this. Now, Vangeli, before you get all defensive, you need to understand that nobody here is hurtling insults at you or your product.
Let's be honest: Your messaging failed. It just did. These people here are early adopters by definition and they haven't a clue why they should use your thing. If the people most likely to use your thing aren't using your thing then I don't know why you would see that as anything shy of a massive red flag.
Second, I just don't believe your claims are true even a little. http:// is dead? This app looks like an massive collector of APIs and RSS. How exactly are you sending requests to all these APIs if not over the internet? Why the frowny face? If you believe that these protocols are dead then wouldn't you be happy to be the one selling the solution?
Third, I see literally nothing about this product that hasn't been tried on one of the however many thousands of "home pages" that existed in the early 2000s. The only thing it's got going for it is native code. From what I can gather your competition in this space is Hootsuite, Buffer, and really any other app that primarily interfaces with APIs.
Fourth, your attitude in these posts and comments has been revealing. And not in a good way. You don't come across as intelligent, just as self-absorbed, egotistical, and uninterested in your users. You care more about your product than about taking care of people's needs and that is the core problem with this app. It solves problems people don't have, and instead of recognizing that you double down on ill advised marketing.
It's honestly impossible to go through and point out all of the severe problems this product and its marketing have.

@trulyadamant I think you pose some great questions here and phrased in a more coherent way than I could put across.
Fascinating @netgenius but a little hard to comprehend at first (and even second look - have been reading more on www.thenogroup.com ). so in effect you are making a hybrid integrated alt www / os ?
@skywalker yes that is correct and again sorry with the confusion hard to explain something so new. Many people can find easy explanations when building one feature apps such as this X does Y and Z while this has endless possibilities. We still have a direct plan of revenue and model attached to this build as we didn't just go gun ho crazy it may just take another version to captivate users or audiences. Thanks for stopping by btw and looking.

I'm continually getting the captcha error. I've tried every combination of caps and not. Did sign-ups get pulled?
EDIT POST-ENTRY: This is actually pretty sweet. It's clever, it's well-made... The music is good. I'm just not why I'd use this.. I don't have a business application. As an early user, I don't have friends on here, nor have I found a chat room in use.
@gmgrimley thanks for the edit. Once we deploy our desktop application it might make of more use. Of course Facebook and MySpace all faced the same problem as having a profile was cool but not by yourself. We have a while to go with this but we are here to stay.

@netgenius So by saying it is an "alternative to the mainstream internet", do you really mean an "alternative to the mainstream social networks"? Because, as a business owner with a website, this will not cause me to use the "mainstream internet" any less.
Report
@netgenius are you seriously self proclaiming yourself as an "internet genius"? I don't know you and you might be very smart but to claim you are makes you look no offense like a joke.
@michaelabehsera I don't understand why this is posted here on our PH page? You could have DM me on my Twitter what point are you making. Please do not do this to me or my product. Thanks.
