NoteCast turns any browser tab's audio into notes — entirely on your device, with nothing sent to the cloud. It tells speakers apart and lets you rename them anytime, updating all your past notes automatically. Chat with your recording to ask it questions, fix the transcript inline, and star key moments as they happen. Use it as a popup, a pop-out window, or a side panel — whatever fits how you work.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built NoteCast because I wanted a way to record meetings, lectures, and podcasts into clean notes without handing my audio over to a cloud service or paying a subscription for it.
NoteCast is a free browser extension (works in Chrome, Edge, and Brave) that turns any tab's audio into a transcript and structured notes — entirely on your own device. No account, no subscription, no audio ever leaves your machine.
A few things I'm especially proud of:
- It tells speakers apart automatically — Speaker 1, Speaker 2, etc. — and if you rename one to their real name, that fixes every mention in that transcript and its notes, instantly.
- There's an "Ask" tab so you can chat with the transcript — live, while it's still transcribing, or anytime after — instead of scrolling to find the one thing someone said.
- You can fix transcript mistakes and star key moments right as you're listening back.
- It works as a popup, a pop-out window, or a side panel — whatever fits how you work.
Would love feedback on what to build next — happy to answer anything about how it works!
the side panel integration is genuinely thoughtful, fits right into how I already work without forcing a new layout
@streampro Thanks! That was exactly the goal, make it fit your workflow instead of the other way around. Really glad it's landing that way.
