I built NotDone because I realized I didn’t really have a problem starting things — I had a problem remembering everything that happens after I start them. Laundry gets washed but sits in the washer. A return gets started but never shipped. A prescription gets called in but never picked up. A free trial gets started and then quietly turns into a charge. Most task apps are built around checking off a single task. NotDone is built around the steps in between. You start an item, NotDone keeps track of what stage it’s in and when the next step needs to happen, and it stays there until it’s actually finished. While building it, I kept simplifying the idea around one rule: Started isn’t done. NotDone is available on iPhone now, and I’d really appreciate any feedback — especially on the kinds of everyday things you start and then forget to finish.
