Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m Tyler, the indie developer behind Notchtime
Notchtime is a Mac screen time tracker that knows when you’re actually watching. I found that the built-in screentime tracking wasn't detailed enough for me and I wanted something more granular.
As I was building I felt it would be nice for the tracking to exist as an extension of the notch - just a little reminder of how much time you've been spending on certain apps.
Here's how it works
Install it and it sits in your notch or is completely hidden.
Notchtime tracks real playback - checking which app you're using, if you're on a web browser then it notes the site and page title, and it also checks how long since you touched the mouse/trackpad/keyboard to see if you're active
Your data doesn't leave your mac - searches, pages, sites, app all sit on a file on your mac - they're not uploaded to any server. No analytics inside the app. No tracking.
Watch the timer, get nudged, or just let it run in the background.
There's also a built in pomodoro timer and a feature to block distracting websites when you're in focused pomodoro time or for the first hour when you wake up
Why use Notchtime:
Flexible - Nudges, timers, blocks, goals - you can set it to work how you want
Insights - when you were the most focused, what distracts you, what websites pull you away from your work the most
You pay once. It’s a one-time license with no subscription, for $5 for the first 100 users then $10.
