I built NotchDodo because I kept thinking about one simple question:
Why should the Mac s notch just take up space?
So I built 14 small tools around it to make the notch part of my everyday workflow - quick access, useful utilities, and a little personality.

Turn any of the 14 tools on or off, so the panel only shows what you use
Pick which quick toggles appear (12 to choose from, like dark mode, keep awake, lock screen, hide desktop icons)
Set your own Pomodoro, break and timer lengths
Set your workday hours for the Day Progress bar
Adjust the hover delay, show or hide the tool dock, and switch to a glass look
Choose whether downloads land on the Shelf, and set your own Claude Code token budget
Hide it in full-screen apps, and keep it closed during video calls
The Launcher follows your Dock, so it always matches the apps you already use.
Custom keyboard shortcuts and rearranging the Dashboard aren't in yet. Both are on my list. Which would help your workflow more?

@dipanshu_kushwaha5 Honestly, it started with annoyance 😄 My iPhone's Dynamic Island shows me what matters at a glance, and my MacBook had a black notch doing nothing, right at the top of the screen where I look all day.
Then I kept hitting my Claude Code limit mid-task with no warning. I wanted that number always visible but never in the way. The notch was the obvious spot: always there, never covering my work, one hover away.
Once the usage meter lived there, the timer, calendar and music followed.

@polymorphclub all local! 🙂 claude code already writes every session to JSONL logs in ~/.claude/projects. NotchDodo reads those and groups your usage into 5-hour windows the same way the open source ccusage tool does, starting at your first message.
It's a close estimate rather than Anthropic's official counter, since they don't publish that. The budget is learned from your biggest past window, or you can set your own. Nothing ever leaves your Mac.
Turning the notch from wasted space into an always visible glanceable dashboard is such a clever reframe, basically the Dynamic Island idea done right for the Mac.
