Hey everyone, I'm Serge, solo developer and founder of NKOMON, based in Cotonou, Benin.

I started this project because booking a hotel in West Africa is still a painful experience. Most platforms don't cover our region, and when they do, the listings are outdated or overpriced. Locally, people rely on word of mouth or WhatsApp groups to find a room. That works, but it shouldn't be the only option.

NKOMON now lists 800+ properties across 10 countries. Hotels, guesthouses, apartments, villas. Every listing has real photos and real prices. Guests pay directly at the hotel — no online payment, no middleman fee for travelers.

I built the entire platform myself — backend, frontend, infrastructure. Laravel, AngularJS, AWS. It's been a long road, but the product is live and growing.
