Right now, while you're reading this, your Mac is making connections you never asked for. Background processes phoning home. Apps syncing data you didn't approve. Unknown servers in countries you've never heard of. Netwoke is the ultimate macOS privacy tool that shows exactly what your computer is doing online. Monitor network connections, understand data flows, and protect your privacy with AI-powered insights. No technical knowledge required.

YAYZY
congrats on the launch!! i have 2 questions - 1) do you use ai to filter/grade/rate the connections (safe, warning, etc) as well as for explaining what it does (as see in the screenshots) ? and 2) where does the ai model run?
@cristiandan Thanks so much — really appreciate it! 🙌
Great questions:
Yes — we use AI as part of the workflow to both analyze and explain connections. The goal isn’t just to label something as “safe” or “warning,” but to give you a clear, simple explanation of what you’re connected to and whether it’s something you should be concerned about. We try to keep this very user-friendly so even non-technical users can understand what’s going on.
We’re currently using the Qwen2.5 7B Instruct Turbo model. It runs as part of our backend infrastructure, where it processes the connection data and generates those explanations in real time.
Happy to answer anything else — and thanks again for checking it out! 🚀
A quick update for our Netwoke followers on Product Hunt 🙏
First, thank you. 56 people who care about what their Mac is doing online. That means everything to an indie developer building this alone.
I want to share something that happened last week that made me proud of what Netwoke is becoming.
Several of you have been downloading and trying products right here on Product Hunt. And Netwoke caught something. Real processes from recently installed apps making connections that raised flags unusual ports, unexpected locations, behavior that didn't match what the app claimed to do.
That's exactly what Netwoke was built for. Not to be paranoid. Not to block everything. Just to show you what's actually happening on your Mac and let you decide.
We saw the news about some shutting down this week. Product's built with real purpose's, serving real people — that's always hard to watch. It's a reminder of how fragile this space can be and how much trust users place in the tools they invite onto their machines.
Netwoke's promise is simple: your data never leaves your Mac, there's no cloud, no subscription, and no hidden behavior. What you see is what it does. Always.
If you haven't tried it yet the live demo is at netwoke.app, no download required.
And if you've found it useful, an upvote today goes a long way. 🚀
NEW UPDATE 1.0.2
So many improvements have been made with Netwoke in the past weeks. I am excited to announce that now Netwoke will run Ai explanantions 100% on your Mac. This makes Netwoke super private. Your explanations never leave your machine. With llama3, this is possible. Netwoke will automatically detect it once you download it locally.
New features and updates with v1.0.2. Netwoke now automatically detects Ollama— a free, open-source local AI runtime. If Ollama is running on your Mac, Netwoke automatically uses it instead of any cloud service. Your AI explanations never leave your machine. Zero API calls. Zero cost. Forever. Nothing beats Netwoke on Network Privacy.
