What do you think? …

With security being a bigger issue these days (see Quincy Larson's medium post "How to encrypt your entire life in less than an hour") I keep thinking what can I do beyond passwords, encrypting my hard drive, using a VPN, and browsing in incognito mode. Turns out there's obviously a lot more. Like using a different browser etc. But what about your hardware and your network. Especially if you're just working at home. - NetWatcher a product developed by some start-up peeps (who dragged me kicking/screaming into designing for tech) is a good start. . *An online security service from some of my former start-up peeps. FROM their WEBSITE (with my annotations) They’ve got a free version of NetWatcher that offers: 1. A secure VPN for all your network traffic (like a version of OpenVPN) 2. Intrusion Detection in the Cloud. All your traffic gets scrubbed by their IDS and signatures (looks like ET Open) 3. Advanced correlation of the IDS anomalies. They have sophisticated rules on top of the IDS signatures to determine what is bad and what is going to lead to getting hacked. 4. Reporting, alerting and an ability to analyze anomalous behavior via their portal 5. They also generate a score they call the cyber promiscuity score. It tells you how much of your activity on the internet is risky This could be great for home computers. A lot of IT departments could use this too given how much ransom-ware is happening?

Looks like these guys opened up their freemium offering so now you can get 5 users on an enterprise account and have access to all their widgets etc. for FREE. Very cool. It’s like Fortune 500 Enterprise Security for no cost.

Thanks @monirom! Valuable feedback especially from a design icon like yourself. Our mission is to bring enterprise security to all companies (not just the fortune 5k). To accomplish this we need to ensure our NetWatcher service is easy to install/use, accurate and affordable. Where all the big enterprise cyber platforms fail the SMB is in complexity, usefulness and cost. In contrast, to reduce complexity and increase usefulness we tightly integrated IDS, SIEM, HIDS, Scanner, Netflow and Threat intelligence into a seamless platform and pushed all the hard work into the cloud--where we get efficiency that allows us to control cost. And you are correct about opening up the offering... Our gift to the world is to enable much of the platform for 5 user shops at no cost (found http://resources.netwatcher.com/...). Currently it's Windows only but MAC/Linux will be available shortly. Looking forward to your feedback! @ScottSu
