Astra made it practical to build and repeatedly refine a full multiplayer 3D browser game with about four or five hours of my own hands-on direction and playtesting over multiple days. It worked across Three.js rendering, Vue UI, Colyseus multiplayer, Blender asset creation, mobile controls and deployment.
The biggest change was the feedback loop. I could report that bots were stuck on an overpass, the drone felt clunky or traffic looked jittery, and Astra could investigate, make changes and build repeatable tests. We improved network timing without replacing the framework, and created distinct bus, bike and drone mechanics alongside the taxi.
It still needed human judgement: I set the vision, tested the driving, caught awkward scale and placement, and pushed back on visuals that missed the style. Astra let that small amount of hands-on time turn into a playable game with a detailed city, public rooms and vehicle progression, rather than stopping at a prototype.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Zef from Pixelhop. I built Neon Shift with GPT-6 Astra in Codex because I wanted a chaotic multiplayer taxi game I could open in a browser and play with friends.
You have three minutes to earn the most fares. Public rooms and bots mean you can play without organising a group. Earn your way from the starting taxi to a bus carrying multiple passengers, a bike that jumps over traffic, or a drone with a passenger dangling underneath.
Astra helped write the game, create models through Blender scripts, test multiplayer behaviour and deploy it. My part was direction and repeated playtesting, roughly four or five hours of hands-on involvement by my estimate. The work happened over multiple days; this wasn't a single-prompt build.
The playtests changed a lot. We moved an overpass because it blocked the beach, fixed a comically oversized bike, and kept reworking the drone until collecting passengers felt less fiddly. We also built tests that imitate bad connections to improve how smoothly other vehicles move.
It uses Three.js, Vue and Colyseus, with original Blender assets. The game is free and runs on desktop and mobile.
