Read about a great restaurant, then drove past it three times without remembering? NearMiss fixes that. Save any place - by name, address, or map pin - and get notified the next time you’re actually nearby. Free for 10 places; Pro unlocks unlimited.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Heiko, founder of NearMiss LLC.
Everyone has a mental list of places they’ll “get to eventually”: the taco spot a friend raved about, the viewpoint from someone’s road-trip photos, the bakery you pass on the way to meetings. The problem is that the list lives in your head (or a notes app), and the moment you’re actually nearby, you don’t remember it. That’s a near miss.
NearMiss turns that list into something that watches out for you:
📍 Save places by name, address, or a dropped pin
🔔 Get notified automatically when you’re back in the area
📜 See your history: every near miss, and every place you finally made it to
📄 Import an existing list from a spreadsheet (CSV)
This idea goes back to when Apple first opened the iPhone to outside developers. I spent about 15 years trying to find someone to build it with me before deciding to learn to build it myself. So this launch means a lot.
Free means free: up to 10 places and 2 CSV imports, with every feature included. No trial, no countdown. Pro ($1.99/mo or $14.99/yr) only lifts the limits, and if you cancel, nothing gets deleted.
A note on privacy: location data isn’t linked to your identity.
NearMiss is iPhone-only for now (iOS 18+). I’d love your feedback, especially on what kinds of places you’d save first and what would make the alerts more useful. What’s the place you’ve missed the most times? 😄
