What do you think? …

Vladimir Leytus
Hey ProductHunters! For everyone who hasn't let go of their resolutions yet, but is a bit concerned, Nagbot can help. We created him to serve as your annoying but useful inner conscience, periodically texting to ask whether you are sticking to your goals or target routines. If you text back an affirmative, he'll heap praise upon you. A negative, and you'll receive the appropriate response (however harsh you choose). Also a fun fact is that Nagbot is built fully on bubble.is Track your nag performance and reach your goals in 2017!
Vytas Butkevicius
Any plans for making it available with a UK number? I want to reach my goals ;/
Vladimir Leytus
@vytasbu absolutely, Nagbot needs to go global
Ian
It's the same story every single day... I read publicity info available worldwide for an app only available in that same one country, but it's for things like this that I purchased a U.S phone number. I hope I can change an account to a UK number at a later date.
Jonny Miller
@vladimirleytus @vytasbu same here, love this idea and would 100% use it here in the UK. How can we make it happen?
Graham Gnall
Was thinking about a similar bot myself. What made you arrive on the bot tone for reward/punishment? I feel like I would tire of getting "nagged" all the time.
Vladimir Leytus
@ggnall we basically wanted to be amused when the bot responded, so that people would look forward to receiving his messages
Graham Gnall
@vladimirleytus you share my sense of humor
Vladimir Leytus
@ggnall I'm glad that there are others out there, we should form a support group or something :)
Horea Burca
For me this is what a cool product looks like. I didn't even need to see the app in action, just reading that last bot response was enough :) "I hate everything you stand for." Fantastic line! Congrats guys, really nice how you made it your own and weren't afraid of people not getting/accepting the sarcasm. I hope things work out for you.
Vladimir Leytus
@baboon thank you, so nice of you to say!
Sebastian Lozano
Funnily enough, I've been having trouble making meditating a habit. Excited to see how this helps. Traditional reminders are a little boring and I've almost trained myself to ignore them if they're not massively important. Think the conversational aspect of this is gonna do wonders! Thanks Vladimir.
Vladimir Leytus
@sebastian_lozano You are most welcome!
Ian
I received the initial message on my U.S phone number, no idea why it's SMS based when that restricts availability and may increase costs. One question I have is which time zone is it based in? I want the message at 9am GMT, so I need to know the equivalent time depending on the sender timezone.
Vladimir Leytus
@ianmayman it's true that the SMS definitely restricts availability and also increases costs but the reason why we chose that medium is that it's the one that's hardest for a person to ignore in the age of constant digital stimulation. I could definitely see introducing email, Whatsapp, FB, etc. as other options in the future. Also when you set up or edit your nag you should be able to see what timezone we think you are in right next to the time picker. So just set the time in that timezone and you should get a notification then. Let me know if you run into issues!
Ian
@vladimirleytus After getting a message at 4pm today, I changed the time and noticed the timezone, maybe you should make that black instead of grey. Also how do I say "No", reply with "No" or just ignore the message?
Vladimir Leytus
@ianmayman yes, it should actually be black for everyone, there was just an issue that was causing it to be light grey on certain phones. Will be pushing a fix shortly. And you should say "No" or something like that - things like "Nope", "Nah", etc. should work
Jonathan Najarian
I'm guessing the user base for this will be very divided, users must love or hate it... how is it going so far? interesting idea! I'm sure many out there need such a thing to get motivated!
Vladimir Leytus
@jonathan_najarian yes I'm sure not everyone will appreciate the "really mean" mode but hopefully they can benefit from the "not mean" one!
