MyTime is a simple app for freelancers, contractors, and consultants to track time across multiple clients, projects, and tasks. Use Quick Clocks to switch jobs fast, review and edit your log, add notes, and adjust rates or rounding. See clear summaries of hours and earnings by client, project, invoice, or month. Build invoice snapshots and keep invoice totals and status organized. Export CSV and iCloud sync. Bulk editing of entries.
My wife juggles freelance work for multiple clients, and switching between jobs while keeping clean time records was constantly slowing her down. So I built MyTime.
The problem we were trying to solve was simple: log time quickly across clients, projects, and tasks, apply the right rounding rules automatically (i.e. round to the nearest 15 minutes by day), and make it easy to turn that work into invoice-ready totals without requiring her to do any extra math.
She also needed a simple way to stay on top of invoice details like when an invoice was submitted, when it’s due based on net terms, and what’s been paid versus what’s still outstanding.
I originally tracked my own consulting work in a detailed Excel system I designed, but this was not a great fit for her, especially since she is on a Mac and does not live in spreadsheets all day like I do. After building my wife the app, I realized MyTime was actually super awesome and better than anything I tracked using Excel. So, I started using it for all my work too. Now both my Data Solutions business and my wife’s design business are solely tracked using this app, create invoice totals used for billing, and to monitor our invoice details.
I’m excited to finally share it. If you try it, I’d love to hear:
• What do you use today to track time and invoices?
• What feels annoying or overcomplicated about it?
• What would make a time tracker a must-have for you?
Thanks for checking it out.
