Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built Mute Guard because I kept running into the same frustrating problem — I'd mute my phone before a meeting or going to sleep, and minutes later Spotify, Google Maps, or some system notification would silently raise the volume back up. Turns out Android has no native way to prevent other apps from changing your volume. So I built one. A few things I'd love your feedback on: The lock mechanic — it works by actively monitoring VOLUME_CHANGED_ACTION and resetting any increase back to zero in real time. Curious if anyone has found edge cases where it doesn't hold. The timer — it survives process kills and resumes correctly on next launch. This was the trickiest part to get right. What's missing — I kept the UI to three icons intentionally. But if there's a use case I haven't covered, I want to hear it. Completely free, no ads, no data collected, no internet required. I use this every night — set a 7-hour timer, put the phone down, and nothing wakes me up because an app decided to play a sound. When the timer ends my alarm volume is back automatically. Simple idea, works perfectly.
