Notation software is precise but slow to edit, and chatbots cannot read a score. Music Block Studio puts both in one place: a real notation editor with an AI agent that has the full context of the score. Ask for a reharmonization, an arrangement or a tab, and the AI proposes changes you review, accept or undo, like code diffs. Import scans, play back and export PDF, MIDI, MusicXML or MP3. Also free in ChatGPT: the Music Block app renders, plays and exports sheet music in the chat.

Hi Product Hunt 👋
One day I wanted to improvise over a chord progression and felt stuck with my musical vocabulary. So I asked ChatGPT how to improvise over a B7alt chord. The answer was a wall of text about chord tones and scales. It was accurate, but hard to turn into something I could actually play.
I looked for a plugin that could turn answers like that into tabs or notation and give me a few ideas to start from and I couldn’t find one.
So I built one for myself to see what was possible. It turned out ChatGPT plugins can show notation right in the chat and play it back, a bit like Guitar Pro. I published it, and a few weeks later I was surprised to see other people using it.
The more I worked on it, the more I wondered what an AI assistant could do inside a notation editor, not just in a chat. I think every notation app will get some kind of AI eventually. What’s still open is how it should feel to work with it on a score.
Music Block Studio is my take on that. You describe what you want (“add a walking bass line”, “turn this into a guitar chord-melody with TAB”), and every change comes back as a proposal you can review bar by bar, undo one at a time, or edit by hand. You can also import a PDF or photo of sheet music and keep working on it.
Every new account gets 500 free credits. That’s enough to write a few pieces, try the AI edits, or scan in some sheet music you already have.
It’s early, and I’d really like your feedback, especially on where the AI gets in your way and where it actually helps.
