I built Murmur because I dictate into Cursor, Terminal, Slack and Notes for hours a day. Every tool I tried wanted a subscription, a word cap, or my audio on someone else's server — and the free ones weren't good enough for daily use.
Murmur is a native macOS app. Hold Right Option, speak, release. The text lands at your cursor, in whatever app you're already in. No window to switch to, no plugin to install.
The default Apple SpeechAnalyzer engine runs on-device: free forever, works offline, no account, no word limit, no audio upload. If you want a different accuracy or you speak Hinglish, connect your own Google Gemini or Meta Muse key and pay the provider directly — Murmur never bills you.
