Decentralized messenger with metadata privacy. Open the link to join.MurMur is a privacy-first messenger: create an anonymous identity and start chatting — no phone number, no email, no account. Messages are end-to-end encrypted in the browser, and the service is built to minimize metadata. It runs on any modern device as a lightweight PWA — nothing to install from app stores. Includes private 1:1 chats, push notifications, and voice/video calling. No ads, no surveillance, no social graph.

Hi PH! I built MurMur because I wanted messaging that doesn't start with "enter your phone number."
Every mainstream messenger requires an identity tied to you, and the metadata — who talks to whom, when — is the real product. MurMur flips this: you open a link, an anonymous identity is created locally in your browser, and you share a link with the person you want to talk to. That's the whole onboarding.
Technically it's a PWA — nothing to download from app stores, works on any device with a browser. Messages are end-to-end encrypted client-side; the relay only transports encrypted blobs.
It's a solo project, built over many months of iterations. Happy to answer technical questions and hear honest criticism.
Full transparency on how this was built: I'm a solo founder working with a full-time autonomous AI agent (OpenClaw) that handles deploys, bug fixes, and production monitoring around the clock.
One human + one AI agent shipped and operate this E2E-encrypted messenger. Happy to share more about that workflow too.
