Hey Hunters! 👋 I'm Muhsin, a biologist and solo Android developer based in Turkey. This project started after the February 6, 2023 earthquakes in Turkey. I kept thinking about how much a few seconds of warning could change — and most existing early-warning apps depend on internet, servers, or crowdsourced networks, which can fail exactly when you need them most. So I built MK Deprem Monitörü the opposite way: 100% offline, no internet, no server, no data collection — ever. It runs a dual-trigger engine directly on your phone's accelerometer: one filter catches the early, subtle P-wave, the other confirms the stronger S-wave, both running in parallel. I validated it against real seismic recordings, including the Mw 7.2 Haiti earthquake, where it would have given 1.4–10+ seconds of warning depending on distance from the epicenter. One month after launch it's already reached users in 31 countries across 6 continents — Turkey, Japan, Chile, Peru, the US and more — and I just added Spanish to reach more Spanish-speaking earthquake zones too.
