Mu6ik

Hey everyone! Super excited to launch Mu6ik on Product Hunt. We've been working on the website since late 2016. Mu6ik started out as a private beta for our friends to give us feedback to improve features, fix bugs and develop new ideas. Over the last year, we've worked towards a stable version of Mu6ik and streamlined user experience to give this a proper public launch. At this point, we want to get more feedback and deliver a product to people who can get the same value we do with finding great music. The idea was born out of the frustration of finding electronic music to enjoy and play for others. For instance, when you go to an artist profile page on Spotify, you'll only find the songs they've released. With Mu6ik, we wanted to deliver a website where you can find the type of music an artist plays as a DJ all wrapped up in a single profile. A little bit about how Mu6ik works: We aggregate tracklists from DJs around the world. Our engine tags each of the songs with metadata like genres, key / bpm, and the DJs that play the songs. We also connect the songs with all the other songs into a graph of sorts. These powerful connections, the music with itself and the metadata, in conjunction with an intuitive interface, brings new methods of exploration of the world of electronic dance music in a way that isn't readily available. For example, you can search through your song feed, popular songs a DJ plays, and other areas of the site, by time. This may not be obvious at first, but it has powerful implications. You can look back in time and find the classics. Or you can look at the music that's trending and popular. Another cool feature that was recently released is the song feed. Inspired by the copious Cassandra fueled newsfeeds, we realized the importance of giving users a custom tailored experience based off who they followed. When you follow a DJ, we'll update your feed with all of the songs the DJ played. Anytime the DJ you follow plays new music, we also push those tracks into your feed. Song Feed is a way to get a pulse on what DJs are currently playing, or to mix and match DJs & genres within a period of time to find an interesting collection of music.
