I bootstrapped a moving company in college by renting UHauls and bribing my friends to help carry sofas up flights of stairs. I realized that the big rental truck companies have differential pricing in regions. There is always a nearby city along your planned moving route that is cheaper to either pick the truck up from or drop it off to.
