mooola is a private personal finance app built for South Africa. Import supported bank statements and turn them into clear spending insights, categories, recurring payments, subscriptions, and trends. Your statements and transaction data are processed and stored on your device—no bank login, cloud account, or persistent bank connection required. Bring multiple accounts and banks into one view while keeping your financial data private.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built mooola because I wanted a better way to understand where my money was going across different accounts without giving another company ongoing access to my banking data.
Most personal finance apps optimise for convenience through live bank connections and cloud storage. mooola takes a different approach: export a supported statement from your bank, import it on your phone, and the statement is processed locally.
There’s no bank login, no mooola account, and your imported financial data stays on your device.
From there, mooola helps organise your transactions, understand category spending, identify subscriptions and recurring payments, and view multiple accounts together.
Right now, mooola is built primarily around South African banks because that’s the financial data and statement formats I’ve had access to while developing it. But the underlying idea isn’t specific to South Africa.
I’d love to expand support into other countries as I’m able to get access to representative statement formats from banks in those regions. If you’re outside South Africa and this is something you’d want to use, I’d genuinely like to hear from you — especially which country and banks you use. That feedback will help me understand where there’s demand and which regions to prioritise next.
mooola is still in beta, so I’d really appreciate feedback on the experience, statement compatibility, missing features, and anything that would make it more useful.
