I’m the maker behind Monnei. This project started because of a very specific problem in my own home: I watched my wife track our household expenses in a notebook for years. While the system worked, it was fragile, notes got lost, totals were hard to calculate, and it was difficult to see the bigger picture of our budget.
When I looked for an app for her, most options felt too complicated, overloaded with features, or required connecting bank accounts, which we weren’t comfortable with. I wanted something that felt as simple and fast as a notebook, but as smart as a modern finance app.
