Hey everyone — I built MonkMode because I was losing hours every day to YouTube Shorts, Reddit, Instagram, and TikTok while trying to get work done on my Mac.
I tried every distraction blocker out there but they all had the same approach: block the entire website. That meant I couldn't use YouTube for tutorials or Reddit for specific communities. MonkMode lets you block whole sites when you need to, but also block just the addictive feeds — YouTube Shorts and Home, Reddit's front page, Instagram Reels, X For You — while keeping the useful parts working.
The feature I'm most proud of is Locked mode. Once you start a focus session, you cannot turn it off until the timer ends. No override, no workaround. It sounds extreme but it's the only thing that actually worked for me.
It's $29.99 one-time — no subscriptions. Would love to hear what you think.
