Is it just me or is this messaging really vague? It's unclear to me what kinds of things it can track. It looks super interesting, would love to know more!
@jessiewould we built the tool to be rather flexible. Even tho we ourselves only used it for about 4 use cases, It can be used to track pretty much anything. The reason why we decided to keep the tag line open ended was that we wanted to figure out what people would end up using the tool for. If we had said something like -- Easily track any price on the web, people would not be prompted to think about other use cases besides price tracking.
Nevertheless, I do see your point. We are thinking of adding a list of example use cases to our homepage so that people have a better idea of what they can use monitorbook for.
@johnaveri I totally get that -- it's nice to keep the messaging broad to account for multiple use cases. That said, I personally would love to see some examples of how people have used it, I think that could be helpful. That's just me, though. :)
@PieterPaul I am one of the cofounders. We have had friends using MonitorBook for a few weeks now. Our friends use it for all sorts of things. Tracking prices. Tracking headlines of websites (for instance you can set up an alert to let you know whenever a certain word shows up in an piece of text). Tracking competitors (specially their pricing). One of our friends owns a restaurant and he uses our tool to track his reviews on yelp as well as his "competitors" reviews.
The tool is flexible, so it will be interesting to see what people use it for :)
