What Inspired This
I manage our household finances in Dallas and realized I had no real idea where our money was going. Costs kept climbing, savings weren't growing, and our statements were basically unreadable.
The Problem
Merchant names are encoded garbage, bank app categories are useless, and manually cross-referencing transactions takes an hour you don't have. Most people either spend too long decoding statements or don't look at them at all.
How the Approach Evolved
I originally planned to build with bank integrations — then discovered that broken syncs are the #1 reason people abandon tools like Monarch and Rocket Money. Every bank already gives you a clean, accurate PDF statement every month — so I built around that instead. No connections to manage, no integrations to break.
What MoneyLenz Does
