Nice idea - two comments:
1) It would be great to know WHY they're so realistic? What's the technology and research that went into developing the material? Why is it superior to other transfers? Right now the only explicit value is that it's a custom print transfer service.
2) The text on your 'About Us' page runs off the page on smaller screens (MBA 11").
@dan_e_gray thanks for submitted us! I'm in genuine awe at the feedback/up-votes!!
To answer your questions:
1) The 2 biggest values are: (1) it's a custom tattoo transfer and (2) it looks incredibly realistic. I tested 20+ manufacturers (from CA to London to Australia) of transfer paper, adhesive, sealers, matting agents and all combos in-between to find a combo that looks real and is somewhat durable. Our transfers don't last any longer than say, Tattly, but they do look very real due to the extra lengths we've gone to. I'm pumped to take this further in the future though; We're working on developing a proprietary process very soon.
2) I will get someone on that text runoff - thanks for the head's up :)
Again, thanks to all of you who up-voted. This is really incredible and I'm sooooo excited by the positive vibes we're getting!!!
Let me know if you have anymore questions (not sure how Product Hunt actually works)
@jordanrossdenny I think this is a cool idea for people who are interested in testing out tattoo ideas and helping kind of figure out what works. I noticed you said you got a Warriors fan to promote you guys at game 5. Have you thought about utilizing influencer marketing to promote your product?
I found this product yesterday on Technically Philly. As someone with real ink I think this is a great idea for those who might be exploring their next tattoo or maybe their first. Can't wait to try out a few different ideas I've been working on for my next tat!
I love this product! For someone who loves to see tattoos but is afraid of needles, this is perfect! Especially for those fun weekends, when you need to quickly get back to business where you cannot have tattoos. Superb work, I wish you the best!
Great Idea.
2 Notes:
1. I found the step-by-step process a bit confusing. At first I thought I had to choose from one of the pre-designed images, but I tried clicking around on a number of them and it didn't seem like I could actually 'choose' one of them. Then I re-read the copy up top and realized that the idea is to download one of those images only to re-upload it in step 2. This process feels backwards to me, and I think the real value of the service is in the custom designs. Step one makes it feel like uploading my own design is an afterthought, but step 2 makes it seem like the purpose. Anyway, I digress.
2. I'm curious what makes these more durable or different than traditional temporary tattoos. The site seems light on details and this may be your biggest selling point if there is actually different technology that makes them more durable.
@spencernorman thanks for the feedback! Truth be told, we did a soft release after our beta round as of 24 hours ago so I agree, there's much to be improved/optimized.
1. I assumed you selected "Browse Designs" from the top? If so, yes, we're working toward the right funnel there. We've got some a/b tests running currently to test this out.
2. Regarding durability, they're right near the top vs. other temporary tattoos. Believe it or not, there's a big disparity between "good" temporary tattoos and "bad." We wanted to make sure ours were the best ones available. That said, we're hoping to soon have a proprietary product that can last upwards to a month in the near future.
Again, awesome feedback that we're definitely taking action on. Thanks Spencer!
Haha yes sir! We ran a marketing campaign after seeing the Cavs fan get his premature ink.
Found a huge Warriors fan to promote us at game 5. Here's a pic: http://screencast.com/t/8fb21Rpb5
