MojiLingo is a language learning chrome extension that helps you learn a language while watching you favorite content on Netflix, Youtube, or other popular streaming services by adding visual pictograms to the captions in order to aid in learning the language. You can also receive mini language lessons and definitions by clicking on caption phrases

I'm Michael. One day I decided to challenge myself to learn a foreign language. I picked Korean.
It was hard but after a few months of lessons from a book, I was able to learn the basics: grammar, vocabulary, and common phrases.
I obsessively watch K-content on YouTube and Netflix, and I was amazed when I suddenly started to understand snippets of the language. It felt like a super power, and it helped me learn new words while watching. I thought, what if I can add more visual context to the captions to supercharge my understanding of the language?
This is how I came up with the idea of MojiLingo. It adds live captions and corresponding visual queues to your favorite content on Netflix, Youtube, or other streaming services in order to help you better infer meaning and acquire language naturally. You can interact with the captions to receive mini lessons as well.
It is still in early stages and we are planning to add more language options. Also I'd love to get your input on it and any cool features you would like to see.
